GLEN RIETA
ledger: reconciled

About

The person behind the ledger.

I'm Glen Rieta, a web developer and graphic artist based in Batangas, Philippines. I build the systems that replace spreadsheets and Messenger threads, and I design the identities that sit on top of them. Freelance since 2026, after years of building software from inside a business and watching, up close, what happens when a company outgrows its manual processes but never gets around to replacing them.

How this started

the short version

This site started as a place to put my links. It became where I keep the systems I wish more businesses had, largely because I kept meeting the same problem from the inside: important operations moving through Facebook messages, a shared inbox, and a spreadsheet three people edit at once, and knowing exactly what should replace them.

That is the real advantage I bring to a project. I am not guessing at what a small business needs from a system. I have worked inside one, watched the workaround happen in real time, and built the fix myself more than once. Since 2026 I do that freelance, for my own products and for clients.

My first training was in computer science, a BS from Union Christian College in La Union, finished in 2004. Most of what I do day to day is still design, and I came to that through music rather than through school.

Two trades, one practice

the system and the thing people see

01

Web systems

WordPress, Bricks, PHP and JavaScript. Custom themes and plugin architectures rather than a pile of plugins: booking engines, membership platforms, newsrooms, storefronts, and dashboards that live outside wp-admin because the people using them should never have to see it.

02

Graphic art and identity

Visual identities, logos, typography and color. I designed the logo for Padre Garcia Hospital and identities for businesses around Batangas, TapLinkConnect and Amazing Batangas among them.

These are not two jobs I happen to hold at the same time. A system nobody can stand to look at quietly stops being used, and an identity with nothing working underneath it is just decoration. Doing both means I can build the thing and make it worth looking at, without a handoff in the middle where the intent gets lost.

What I've built

the ledger, so far

2026

Totoong Balita

A regional newsroom for Southern Tagalog: editor, corrections, live blogs, mirrored PCSO results, photo watermarking, and analytics that store no IP address.

Completed

TapMyPet

My own product: NFC and QR pet tags with owner-editable profile pages, a custom storefront, and a Lost Mode that reaches the owner when a finder scans the tag.

Ongoing

BAGSIK

A platform for the art collective I belong to: membership applications, a members' marketplace with auctions, community boards, and an officer ledger.

Completed

LottoNatin

Lottery results platform: AI ticket scanner, automated Facebook publishing, SEO content pipeline.

2026

TapLinkConnect

NFC digital business card platform: contacts CRM, organization & membership system, self-serve dashboards.

2023 to 2026

Amazing Batangas

Province-wide business directory: booking, reservation, and e-commerce systems across places to stay, eat, and go, plus a review system, email system, and merchant dashboard on a real REST API.

Art, exhibits and three books

the other half of the practice

I have been a member of BAGSIK, the Batangueñong Grupo sa Sining at Kultura, since 2024. In April 2026 I showed work as an exhibiting artist in Pushing Boundaries, the group's first experimental art workshop and exhibit, held at the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office at the Provincial Capitol in Batangas City.

Most of my art work, though, is in service of someone else's. I was the graphic artist for three coffee table books, for BAGSIK, for Agoncillo, and for PCCI Lipa. I designed for Yelcast's NCCA exhibit Kasinsayan in December 2025, and for Remo Valenton's fourth solo exhibition at the NCCA, My Expressionist Opus, opening November 2026.

Before any of this I was a professional guitarist, playing in the Philippines from 2009 and in Malaysia from 2011 to 2016. I have since stepped away from performing, but the habits stayed: rhythm, timing, and the sense that a thing is finished when there is nothing left worth removing.
